In your abrupt about face
How did this all happen so fast
How could I not see it coming
Like high speed photography
The shock waves of your intent
I will never caress your skin

It bears heavy right now
This pain and sorrow
A halo of illumination
A crown of humiliation
I am lost in knowing
The space you gifted me
Has ceased to exist
If it even ever did
Infinity holds me
As I gather my head
Hold onto my heart
Bathe it in light
Forgive my foolishness
In side-stepping instinct
Consumed and cast aside
Illusion that feels real
